It's finally time for summer vacation! I finished my last final a week ago, and have finished all of my SATs until school starts again in September. After ages of not doing anything online, I am looking forward to actually having time to do what I want and not have to study all the time!
Anyway, just a summer of almost nothing ahead of me, besides the minuscule amount of homework, and summer reading, as well as finally (possibly) getting my driver's license. And the new Harry Potter movie in July! Hopefully, a summer of leisure, and not too hot in Southern California, as right now its overcast and not too hot, and there was rain last week (fingers crossed that it stays!)

I just spent an amazing week in Portland, which has got to be one of the coolest cities I have visited. It is also VERY easy to get around in. They have some of the coolest shops, and the most amazing bookstore. It takes up a whole block and is four stories tall. It's called Powell's City of Books, and if you ever go to Portland, you should definitely go there. If you're there on a Saturday or Sunday, you should definitely go to the Saturday market, down on the South Waterfront. Craftsmen from all over come and set up booths and sell their goods.

Some cool stuff about Oregon:
1. The only tax is property tax. Which means the property tax is high, but there is no tax on food, gas, etc.
2. Oregon is not a self-serve gasoline state - attendants pump you gas for you. Although this can be a little inconvenient if you have to be somewhere fast, it provides more jobs.
3. In Portland, there is a great public transportation system, with an area you can ride the trams without having to pay.

Hopefully, I'll be able to upload some photos from my trip. There are more than 400 to sort through.

On Saturday, I saw one of the most amazing documentaries I have ever seen. It's called For the Bible Tells Me So. If anybody has the time, they should go and watch it.
It's about extremely religious families learning how to handle the realization of having a gay or lesbian child.

Aren't breaks supposed to be fun? The answer is yes, they are. And I am fairly sure that almost everybody else had a more relaxing break than me, because mine was not so fun.
1. I found out that if my parents had mademy orthodontist appointments, my stupid braces would be off by now
2. When I went to pick my grandpa up at the bus stop, he wasn't there and we ended up having to drive a couple of hours to get him because he didn't get off at the right stop
3. When I got home, my grandpa blamed his getting lost on me (its not fun having an 87 year old man blame you for something you didn't do!)
4. Later in the week, my grandpa tripped and ended up going to re emergency room because he broke his arm and has to live in a old people rehab center for a while
5. When I was babysitting, their dog bit me (not my fault!) and I got this big bruise that turned all purple and black and green and yellow

The one exciting part was going to a football game, even though out had to be one of the most boring football game ever...

But all my friends were jealous because of how "exciting" my break was...
